1958 T-100D "Slim Jim"
Hand-built in Guild’s historic factory in Hoboken, New Jersey, the T-100D is a vintage thinline fully hollow guitar. At the time, Gibson had the largest market share, with Gretsch not far behind. Guild was not making as many guitars, hence, the T-100D is a bit more rare. It was nicknamed the Slim Jim due to it’s ultra slim body. The Franz single-coil pickups have a punchy P90 vibe that can go from cool jazz tones to early rock raunch. The all laminate body was a decision based on standard construction for electric archtops at the time. Eliminating feedback and creating a structurally stable build were the two main reasons.
Cosmetic Condition:
Considering it’s age, this guitar is extremely clean. Outside of the finish checking that would be common for a guitar of this age, the finish is relatively intact. All the parts are original and function as designed. EXCELLENT
